htaccess and phocadownload

I would like to increase the security of the phocadownload directory.

Can I use an .htaccess file in phocadownload?

I am thinking that I could use a command like: deny all
and this would stop the bad guys from stealing files meant for registered users.

Is anyone else using this method? Does anyone know if it works?

Hi, yes, you can do it, and you can move your files behind public_html folder too.
