Search results links to category not the files

I had installed phoca download in my site and works fine.

url is http://cgrf.kseb.in

There are many files in download section. When ever I search for a file, it is listed properly in search results. But the link is pointing towards category and not the file.

For example

if I search for hospital, file name and description appears properly. But search result links to the category (http://cgrf.kseb.in/index.php/latest-orders-ktk) instead of the file itself (http://cgrf.kseb.in/index.php/latest-or ... o-650-2011)

So search is not at all useful for visitors, as they have to manually find out the needed files from all files in that category manually.

Note
1. Joomla native SEF is enabled
2. Display file view is enabled in phoca download options


Please advise how to solve this problem??

Hi, then you need to customize the search plugin, as not on all sites, the detail window is used (file view), so it is universally set to category view as default value.

I have the same question. I'm using Phoca Download on my site
But if you search for a specific product PDF (for example: "SP2998-1") my search will find the file, but when you click on the link it takes you to a page that displays the entire category. Is there a way to make the search result link directly to the PDF file instead?

Hi, see similar posts where this is explained. As default, no file view is used, so there is no area where to link, this is why the search plugin links to category view as default there is no file view - to display file view, it needs to be customized.

Thanks for your reply. I did try to search for similar topics but couldn't find any with a solution. So are you saying this can't be done? Or do you know how I can customize this? Thank you very much!

Also maybe someone knows of another Search module that may allow this? Or some sort of way to index the PDFs in my Joomla search?? Thanks!

OK after a little more investigation I downloaded this finder component, set my search to "smart search", re-indexed the site and voila! This works great!
