Hewbrew text shows fine in html but not when rendered to PDF

Hello,

I'm running Phoca PDF 1.0.9 on Joomla 1.5.25. When I render a document that shows Hebrew text fine in Chrome and Safari, the PDF version shows something like the following: "???(n?*t?n,"

Here is some sample text from the browser: "Note that the verb gives, נתן (nā•tăn, pronounced “nah-tan”), is an active participle, “giving,” rather than the past tense, “gave.” "

As per an entry I saw on this forum I tried adding all available fonts, such as com_phocapdf_dejavusans, com_phocapdf_helvetica, etc. But still the Hebrew text does not appear. I should note that all my systems (Mac OS X, browsers and the like) are set to English. The same would apply to the users of the website of concern where the Hebrew rendering is not taking place.

Any tips on how to overcome this issue?

Thanks,

Ted

Hi, see similar posts in this forum, you need to have some font which supports hebrew language.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the response. Did any of them say where to get such a font and where to install it? Does the font have to go on a person's Mac and/or PC or be installed into the Phoca PDF product on the Joomla website or both?

Thanks,

Ted
