Frontend Upload - Choosing a category half possible

I don't know how to put the Subject right... so..
I was thinking my categories won't show because of this well-known problem regarding the user rights. But actually in my case it seems quite different because the categories are shown if I click on the drop-down menu, but... the drop-down menu itself is just some pixels in width. I have to click on the little white box in order to see the list of possible categories for uploading.
Here's a screenshot of it ('cause the site is not accessible at the moment ):

As you can see, the all possible categories for me as an administrator are shown.. somehow.. Could this be a problem with the width for the content or something like that? And how can I solve it?

Almost forgot. I have installed phocadownload 2.1.6 on Joomla 2.5
