No, there isn't... you can change the icon if you want but you cannot remove it if you use subcategories...

Kapiere schon, das must du in HTML code ändern:
Reihe 23 (mit Bildern), oder Reihe 37 (ohne Bildern)
components/com_phocagallery/views/categories/tmpl/default.php

It would be nice to be able to remove the back arrow because it throws off the number of thumbnails listed. For example if you have joomla display 25 thumbnails per page it really displays 26 because joomla doesn't count the back button. This issue messes the layout up leaving valuable empty thumnail space. The best fix would be make joomla count the back button as a thumbnail.

Does that make any sense?

No, so worked it before but it caused pagination errors... e.g. you got only backbutton and folders and no images. On the next side the same happened... No images was displayed ... You can see this forum which problems it caused.. E.g. Joomla! framework pagination worked incorrectly.... becuase e.g. you have only 5 images on the site and you wanted to go to the second site. On the second site there was not the first image:

First site: BACK, 1,2,3,4 (count = 5)
Second site: BACK 6,7,8,9 (count = 5, limitstart 5, Nr. 5 was missed)... and much more errors...
