Action on Upload and Download

Hi Guys,
I was wondering if ther's any way to have an action on upload and download.
Whta I need is to be informed of a user upload because we offer a document editing service and once the file is uploaded we have to edit it, and then store it in a category where the user can download it again (once modified).

So we would like to have 1) action moving the file somewhere for editing and 2) action to store the image in the user profile/category for download.

Any idea?

Thanks so much!
Cristiano

Hi, for now:
1) you can enable sending an email while uploading
2) and set the the files will be not authorized, so they will be not displayed until admin will approve them.

Hi Jan,
thank you for your answer. Please let me ask you this:

1) Is it possible to allow only Owner of a certain file to download that file after he upload it and we flag it as authorized ? So not allowing others to see and/or download files they do not own?

2) Can we eventually create a SQL action to create a subfolder for a specific user (when he register to the site) so that all his upload/download are always stored in a subfolder that can only be seen and accessed by himself?

3) Would it be possible to assign TAGS on upload (so that we can have say 10 tags for our offered services for your uploaded files and you can select the ones you want using tags)?

Thanks again

Cristiano

HI,

1) then you need to set the access for this user only (in administration or somehow customize the code  )
2) I think this is possible, and maybe here in the forum, there were some guides for this - this needs to be done in Joomla! core files
3) Needs to be customized but I think, should not be a problem

Thank you Jan,
I guess you do not offer a custom coding service, do you?

In case drop me a line on my email. Otherwise I will keep going with my investigation and trials....although I am not a programmer and I guess I will not be able to solve all my needs alone :-)

Thanks
