I am using phoca download so that users can download pdf files. There are lots of these pdf files in several categories. These pdf files were created by using adobe acrobat's combine files into a single pdf feature. I need a search tool that will search inside the content of the pdf files not just search the title, meta tag and description. Is this possible? I know that phoca provides a search plugin but it seems that it only searches title and description, meta tag etc.

Hi, the search plugin search database parts of Joomla! (include Phoca Download items) but to search inside the file, you need to write some new plugin. For now I don't know any feature which can search the documents on the server (easily without memory problems) so cannot give any clue advice

Jan, do you have any interest in creating such a plugin for me?

To use PD together with JiFile might be a solution. JiFile is the best Joomla! document indexer at the moment. It has no ACL and can be very slow if you use hundreds of indexed documents, but there´s no better solution at the moment.
