What are the search features....

I have pdf's and would like to be able to do a search on the content of the pdf, I scanned them as searchable pdf's. Some are pretty good and some are not. But that is another story. Does this extension allow for searching with in descriptions?

What do I need to download and install to make this work.... I see a few components, plugins, extensions etc....

Hi, Phoca Download does not search in content of PDF files (in fact this is really difficult feature on the web, for this you need to have some server which have specific settings - e.g. memory, etc. to open - search - close documents on server)

I was able to get a program called JiFile that will index the pdf's and make them searchable via it's index. The only draw back is you can't edit the index to correct for errors. A major drawback I believe. I have poor quality documents in some cases.

I like that phocodownload can search the descriptions, so I could just put the text in that and it will work. This will be quite time intensive on my part.



One other thing....

Can I edit what the user sees. can I get rid of the giant DOWNLOAD and DETAILS buttons? And only display the Title?
