PDF is empty

Hi,

I have installed and modified according to manual on my site; using Joomla! 3.2.0.

When I click on the PDF Link I get an empty site except for the Page title. I added custom Footer to check, whether it would work; and it was displayed. Here the link: http://www.wupag.ch/index.php/revision? ... format=pdf

Any ideas, where I could check why there is no content in the PDF?

Thanx a lot,

Barbara

Hi, try to test it with some easy text in the article - e.g. add only TEXT there without any rows or empty spaces, etc. Some editors can produce hidden characters which can be a problem while rendering the PDF

Hi Jan,

- I added a page with just <p>test<p> with "no editor" configured (using normally JCE). But produced same error.
- Tried "protostar" as template, to see if it was my template. Same result.
- Installed Phoca PDF to another 3.2.0 site. Same result.

Could it be a Joomla 3.2.0 problem? I would understand, if it generates an error. But it seem to work, generates PDF, takes the info from Footer if you specify it and puts the page title on it, but no content. It's strange.

Thank you for your support.

Barbara

Hi, try to switch to another editor, e.g. tinymce - and save only this content (in html editor) <div>test</div>

and check if really only this code was added to dabase.

Some editors can add non standard hidden characters (like empty spaces, e.g.) which can do such problems

Hello Jan

I have very big problem (exactly the same like the user above) and I hope you can help me.

I've installed PDF component with plugin on my site (localhost) and it worked fine for couple days and suddenly one day it just stopped showing article in pdf :(.
I didn't do any update so I really don't know what happened. In cerated PDF there is only the menu title and nothing more.

I've read the posts in which people write about empty pdf and tried the ideas but it hasn't helped.
I tried what you write "check html of your content if it does not include some specific formatting" - printscreens below and I think everything is good but PDF is still empty :(

please help :( :( :(

Hi Anka,

What colour of font do you use.

If it is white it will be printing white on white and the text will be invisible.

Jimmuk

Hello Jimmuk

Thanks for reply :)

No, I don't use white - in template I have something like grey #58595B and in Phoca PDF Plugin settings all colors are set on black #000000. I enclosed a printscreen where I selected all the text in PDF and it is seen that there is no text between the header and the footer.

I've set all the fonts (both in template and in plugin) as helvetica to avoid some problems and still it doesn't work.
So I set Beez5 template to check if maybe the problem is in the template but it hasn't helped :(.
The strangest thing is that it had been working for a while and one day it stopped :(.
Maybe some other component, module or plugin did that (after installing PDF Phoca I installed many other components) but I have no the remotest idea where to look for the problem.

I'll be grateful for any help.

Anka

Hello

Maybe it will be helpful to somebody...

In a fit of despair I uninstalled PDF Phoca plugin and component, remove all the changed files from every directory and back up them from my oldest backup. Next I installed PDF Phoca component and plugin once again and do all the things which were required and... now it works!!! :D
I don't know why it didn't work but the most important it works now :)
