Url in download

Hi,
I'm offering a site with downloads. I've installed phoca downloads as I've used the gallery and downloads component some years ago and had no issues and works out of the box. Thanks for the great component by the way.

My issue:
I have a link on a joomla article page so that public visitors can download the file. I have the files stored above public_html and have the token download link on the product page to the subsequent download page:
From this page a visitor can download the file.

My question is how do I hide the fact that I'm using phocadownload in the url? basically remove the highlighted part of the url:
http://example.com/index.php/component/phocadownload/download/tokenhere
Or

Can I offer a direct link from a joomla article page get the download without heading from the article page with the token link to the Phoca download page?
Really I just want people to be able to download files straight away in a joomla article, whilst having the files out of public_html view.

Hi, create a menu link to Phoca Download, then your URL will be different - without component/phocadownload.

If you want that the link will be not visible for users, do it in menu module which will be not published.

https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... -in-joomla

This means, there will be menu link to Phoca Download and the right URL will be created, but if you will add it to hidden menu module, the menu link will be not displayed for users (only "nice" url will be applied to your links)

Hi Jan,
I've followed the instructions as documented but still cannot get the URL to be different.

Would it be possible for you to take a look if I give you the access details?

Regards,

Hi, the url will be different in case, a menu link to phoca download exists - did you create menu link to phoca download - e.g. to categories view?
