In com_content componenet I can manage access to each categories by user groups. I can set rights for deleting or editing files.

In Phoca Download I can do almost the same but I have to pick up specific users by their names.

Is it possible to change this to the way I described (by user groups, not specific users)? What changes should I make?

I want to make Your extension work with ACL Manager (aclmanager.net) and joomla acl system like its working with com_contet.

Ok, but maybe I'll be able to add this by myself. I supose I should begin with adding some new code in access.xml file to let acl control categories. Bu that can be not enough. What is the next step?
