Probelm mit Thumbnail in Plugin

Hi, sorry I don't understand, what exactly the problem is:

Now one sees two yellow frames which are too wide of course and I find no satisfactory possibility them narrow to do.

Should there be the yellow sides?
Shouldn't there be the yellow sides? Should there be other color (setting via parameters in plugin code)
Shouldn't there by any sides, so the image should be wider (setting in component: crop image function, so the image will have the same size as the yellow background)?
