Download limits in 2.5

Hi, I'm using Joomla 2.5 and am stuck with that for now, since an attempted migration to Joomla 3.0 destroyed my site and I had to restore it to the old version. So using the v3 version of Phoca Download is not possible.

However, I specfically wanted to use the component to restrict downloads. What I really need is the ability to upload a file via FTP and then send either different links, or individual tokens or passwords for the same link, to a handful of people, which will allow them to each download that file once.

Is there any way to do this with Phoca in Joomla 2.5? I see after some frustration and browsing that the unique download feature is only available in version 3! Is there any chance you'll update the 2.5 version to have that feature? Or is there a way to accomplish what I'm asking for with the 2.5 version? I've tried setting the "download number" to 1 but I guess that's not the same as "download limit" since I was able to download the test file numerous times.

I basically just need a way to send different people the same file, but only allow each of them to access it once. Can this be done with Phoca in Joomla 2.5?

Hi, download token feature works in Phoca Download since version 3. So for now the only one solution I see, is to install Joomla! 3 and discover the problems they occur there and solve them
