Language menu takeover

So after installing the nl-nl language pack for phocamaps i've got serious language file issues in my translation manager

under extension manager and searching for "phoca" it lists the following entries for the language pack

nl-NL.com_Phocamaps Website Taal 3.0.0 Alpha 2013-05-25 Magic Solutions N/B 10000
nl-NL.com_phocamaps Website Pakket 3.0.0 Alpha 2013-05-25 Unknown N/B 10368
nl-NL.com_phocamaps Beheergedeelte Taal 3.0.0 Alpha 2013-05-25 Magic solutions N/B 10001

Uninstalling either of them doesnt work

trying to uninstall 1st or 3rd gives an error about having to be installed as a package. Trying to install the 2nd (package) gives an error about missing manifest file.

Hi, really not sure what can be the problem, try, try to contact the author, if there is e.g. stable version of the translation :idea:

well its the 1st one listed on https://www.phoca.cz/download/category/3 ... -component with the 4 joomla compatibility logos next to it. So i would assume you tested it to make sure it works. Can pm su access if needed

Hi, no, I don't test the language files, I only see if the files include the language they should include - there are over 2000 translation files so if I will check or test them, there will be no Phoca extension as I would not have time to create any :-( ... so the translation files are fully managed by authors and for me it is really impossible to check the translation (as written above, because of count of the translation and time demands and because I mostly don't understand the langauge) :-( And of course it is not possible to get all translations up to date :-( ... So if there is known the author of the translation, the easiest way is to contact translator and ask for updated file. If this is not possible, will be great if someone other can update it and send me it so I can publish it.

So after fixing that language takeover thing i proceeded to install phocamaps. Or atleast i tried to. First attempt gave something about duplicate entry in one of the tables, and installation was aborted.

So i then went into mysql and deleted the tables and then ran

DELETE FROM `ov2dp_schemas` WHERE `extension_id` = (SELECT `extension_id` FROM `ov2dp_extensions` WHERE `type` = 'component' AND `name` = 'com_maps');
DELETE FROM `ov2dp_extensions` WHERE `name` = 'com_maps';
DELETE FROM `ov2dp_assets` WHERE `name` = 'com_maps';
DELETE FROM `ov2dp_menu` WHERE `type` = 'component' AND `title` LIKE '%com_maps%';
DELETE FROM `ov2dp_session` WHERE `data` LIKE '%com_maps%';

and matching for phocacommander

Then tried to reinstall, no luck. 404 component not found. I'm seriously getting tired of this buggy stuff. gotta do a site restoration from akeeba prior to installing Any phoca component AGAIN. This is like the 5th or 6th time in 24hrs.

Anyways i'm done with phoca. Caused me way too much issues. In all my years of using joomla i've never had so much trouble with a component

Ch3vr0n,

If you just contacted me I could have solved the issue. Now Jan contacted me. It seems that there is an old version of the language file linked on the download page. I Just sent Jan again the latest version where there are no problems. Most of the big NL language packs are updated. If there are any strings missing people email me and I add them or the add them so I can update the language file for Jan again.

If you want to help with updating the dutch files feel free to contact me so we can talk about which part you want to do so we are not doing any double work.

PM me your email and I'll sent it to you the latest language pack so you can test it.
