Erratic dowload logs

Since some time I´m noticing an erratic behaviour on the dowload log /email.

Phoca only logs one file and not always, no mater the file is dowloaded from a log / non loged user

Any idea on what is going on?

Hi, check if the file is not accessed per direct link. The system is set to log any file everytime (there is no sense to do it other way), so really no idea what can be wrong there

I think I got it. Since i don't have much space on the site I have to resort to an FTP to store the files. I used to encode the user & password on the external link and it used to work.

I tested with local files and indeed phoca logs and send emails,

I think the FTP was upgraded and since then phoca isn't loging the downloads. Any idea why this is happening? Phoca recognizes and handles the files BUT it seems not to acknowledge the download...

Hi, Phoca Download stores the statistics in database, so this should have nothing to do with FTP

The problem seems to be when writing on the database. I tested with Google drive drive and had the same problem. No records where kept of the download.

Another strange think is the direct link option. I had the idea that when you choose yes the external link was visible on the browser. Now, no mater what I choose is always obfuscated.

I wonder if i re-install everything i will have to add everything again...

One neat thing missing is the option of cloning a file. This is useful when you have a complex external url this way you can create several files just by changing the filename.

I got some pacience and decided to try again

Indeed phoca can log if the file is local. If one uses the external link function no matter "direct link" option is set to yes or no it never logs statistics.

I was using an FTP but the same aplies to a Google Drive file

Hi, hmm, testing now, when I set direct link to "No" with external link, I get the statistics there.
