Access/View rights for one client only

Hello, I have th exact same question as a person did 2010. Because he described it so well I will just quote him:
I want to use Phoca Download to allow a client to download files from their site. However, when each client logs in 'Registered User', I want them to be able to see only their downloads, and not everyone's.
I was planning to setup the following structure:
Section
--Client 1
----Download 1
----Download 2
--Client 2
----Download 1
but when Client 2 logs in I don't want them to be able to see the Client 1 category. Can I do this directly in Phoca or do I have to search for another solution?
I have already tried giving a categorie the "special" access level and specifying which user can access it but I just does not display the folder.
Hopefully someone can help me.

Hi, yes, not accessible categories are not displayed for the users - this works only for files.
When a file is not accessible for some group, it can be still displayed, after user clicks it, he/she must login to download this file.
But this does not work for categories, so maybe you can somehow change the structure for accessible/not accessible files, not categories

Hello,
thanks for the response.I changed the structure and tried to set specific files to only be visible by the user which the file belongs to.
This does not work however.
I also tried to give each user its own group with its own "rights" but the file will either be displayed to all users or not even to the one I am logged in with.
If you have another solution I would be very greatful!

Hi, testing now and see no problem. If I set that User A can access the file, only user A can access it, no other can access it (other users can see it or not - depends on the settings but when they want to download, they are required to login)

Could, you to be sure we are talking about the same settings, post a screenshot in which I can see how you set the setting which lets only the uploader see their own files?
If you want you can also have admin access and try it there.
