Fatal error: Out of memory

Current error I am receiving:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 52428800) (tried to allocate 14016 bytes) in /home/reenieju/public_html/tlm/administrator/components/com_phocagallery/helpers/phocagallery.php on line 894

I have read several threads and saw I should check the memory limits in my PHP.INI file.... checked and it was set to 128. I also checked the thumbnail creation just to make sure it had not somehow flipped over to no.

All of my galleries have been uploaded to my host server and the categories w/in Phoca have all been created and pointed to the corresponding folders.

At this point - I can not even view the image tab and I still have many more galleries to thumbnail. What should I check now?

Hi, I am running Phoca Gallery on 8MB and 12MB RAM without any problems...

- check the size and resolution of your images (sometimes GD library has problem with images with large resolution)
- check cpu of your server too.

Thanks! I went back and checked the files I had uploaded onto the server and one of the galleries had not been resized before it was uploaded. Resized, re-uploaded, all set! Thanks again!

I am having this issue as well. The process was working just fine for a while and then all of a sudden started creating blank thumbnails on the Images screen (where it lists all images). When attempting to add multiple images at once, the error message is generated. Our server is working fine, so what's the problem? I even tried to regenerate a thumbnail for an image that already contained one; it erased the old image and that image is now thumbnail-less.

Could the error actually be a permissions issue instead?

Hi, no idea there, try to check all the possible reasons (can be found in the forum), maybe it can be permissions  It very difficult to analyze some system which worked and now it is not working (maybe you need to check the modifications which were made to find what can make the problem)

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I haven't made any modifications outside of creating folders, categories, and uploading images via the Administration/back end. :( If I figure it out, I'll let you know.

I'm having this issue now, too.

All photos are 800x600, and uploaded fine. First 20 thumbnails were created fine.

Then I switched to view "all" (I meant to view 100), and now I get the error any time I go to the images. I guessed it had to do with handling so many images, so I turned off thumbnail creation, but that hasn't helped. If I can't view the page of images, I can't change the 'view' back to a reasonable number. So... now what?

Okay, nevermind.
I found my own solution, and it was stupidly simple:

Log out. Log in.

My image view was reset to 20.
