Is it possible to create an unique url to each file only based on the alias ?
Today the url is a combination of file-id and alias. like this /index.php/file/321-alias

Hi, not sure what you exactly mean? You can use standard link to the file, like you have described it or you can use unique URL feature:

I need a unique url, like this http://host/index.php/file/alias-name to be used from a 3-part program.
We will provide the alias-name when we create the file in Phoca - and this alias-name is known by the 3-part program.
Is also very import the users are prompted for username/password (I belive that is default) ...

Hi, as written above, both of the links are unique, when there is a link to a file, it cannot be "not unique" - it always access one unique file.
