Prompting User To Login To Download File

Post by likestuff »

I read the instructions and searched the forum but I may have missed an answer.

I was able to set-up the download option where you send an unique download link to download a file. The issue that I'm having is that it's asking the user to login to download the file but I thought I set it up to prevent that so I'm not sure what I missed.

I read this but may have missed something.

Hi, yes, so it should work it, the unique link does not need a login, it is unique and includes the token, try to check the permissions of category too

Hi Jan,

The folder is marked as Public, is that not the correct access?

Thanks!

Hi, this is Ok, try to change this parameter (I think, there will be no problem, but only for test):

Access Level - Registered Users Set access levels for registered users. Some actions in frontend can be done by registered users only. Set which access level group will be regarded as registered group.

Try to set all the groups there (only for test)

1) I did what you instructed but still no luck :(

2) Also, I created a folder in /phocadownload/myfolder, but when I tried to open it via the backend to upload the file the folder will not open. Is there a reason why?

Thanks!!

Hi,

2) hmm, when you click on the link, do you get any error there? E.g. javascript error ( https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... -conflicts )

Can you paste the URL before clicking on the folder and then after clicking it?

Hi, I am now working on new version of Phoca Download and test it now without getting such problems.

I will do more tests, but for now I really cannot say what can cause it.

OK :(

How will I know when the new version is available?

If you like I can test it when you feel it's ready.

Thanks!

Hi, I am now finishing it, but I cannot say when it will be ready, there are many factors which can influence it so it is hard to say.
