Hi all,
I have created different categories, and each category has access to a specific user.
I have a parent category called "persona file" and then 2 sub categories "user1" and "user 2" something like this:
"Personal File"
|
|---> "user 1"
| ---> "user 2"
I have created a link to "personal files", I have set the access to "user1" category only to a specific user. The same for user2.
Now the problems that I would like to solve are the following:
- once a user has logged in to joomla website, he should be able to see ONLY its category.
- once the administrator has uploaded something to "user1" category, the "user1" should receive an email notification
To the best of my knowledge both features are not implemented right now.

Show only user personal files, send email to a specific user

Hi,
1) this should work like you described - you can only see categories where you have access rights.
2) for now there is no such option, so this needs to be customized directly in the code

Re: Show only user personal files, send email to a specific
Hi,
and thanks for your prompt reply.
Is there a way to hide the user2 category when user1 is logged?
Right now what happens is that the user1 click on "personal file" link and he can see the two categories (user1 and user2) and f course he can access to user1 files and he get an error message when he tries to see the content of user2 category.
What I would like is that user1 can ONLY see one category, the category "user1".
Is it possible?
Thanks,
Massimo

The point is, then user1 logged in the web site, he should see ONLY the category where he can access.Jan wrote:Hi,

Hi, can you paste a screenshot where exactly user can see category where he/she does not have rights to see it?
