show all files in a folder

Post by Thomsterdam »

Hi,
If this is the umpteenth time this question has been asked, I'm sorry. I couldn't find the answer.

Is it possible to only upload files to a certain folder and not add those files in the back-end one by one?

I would like to be able to upload files by FTP to the Phocadownload (sub)folder. I would then want Phoca Download to show all files in that folder for download, without me doing anything in the Joomla! back-end. So far I have only been able to find a way to add files in the Joomla! back-end one-by-one. It would be so much easier if I could just upload the file by FTP and then forget about it.

Thanx,

Thom

Hi Christine,
I think you misunderstand the question or haven't read it fully. I know how to upload files by FTP. That is not the point.

What I would like is Phoca Download to see the file and display it in the list instantly so I would not have to go to the back-end and select it through the PD interface. So: upload by FTP and go.

Cheers,

Thom

Hi, in Phoca Download, there is a "multiple add" feature like in Phoca Gallery

- you create folders, subfolders and add the files there - then you upload them to server and in multiple add, all folders will be transformed to categories and subfolders to subcategories and files will be set for the categories/subcategories.

There is no option to only upload files and such will be displayed in the front as this has a lot of disadvantages - e.g. you cannot add additional information to files - titles, description, icons, etc. etc. - you cannot order the files (like you can do when the information is set in database), etc. etc.
