Can't INSTALL com_phocadownload_v3.1.0.zip to Joomla! 3.4.8 #2

Hi,

I have the same problem described in this thread.
I'm on Joomla! 3.4.8 and tried to download com_phocadownload_v3.1.0.zip

When I try to install it, I get the following message:

JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.
JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.
Duplicate column name 'token' SQL=ALTER TABLE `jos_phocadownload` ADD COLUMN `token` char(64) default NULL;

Now I looked all over the forum for a solution and nothing fixes the problem:
  • I've checked the tables and they are all there, including the one mentioned in the error.
  • I tried the ftp method: downloading from a folder, but I also get the same message.
The alternative was to install the files manually since all the database files seemed ok, but the instructions don't match the files I find in com_phocadownload_v3.1.0.zip

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Alicya,

Try to solve it in this way: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... setup-file

As it's not the same problem & solved thread, we will split threads accordingly.

Kind regards, Christine

Hi Christine,

I tried the method you mention on the link and now I'm getting the following error:

Warning
Duplicate column name 'token' SQL=ALTER TABLE `bdq_phocadownload` ADD COLUMN `token` char(64) default NULL;

Error
Error installing component

Please advise.
Regards.

Hi, it seems like you get a problem when the script tries to install sql tables but it tries to install the update (which should not do because of version number)

So, it seems like in your Joomla! extension table there is some wrong information about the version of the component.

Do you make an install or upgrade?

If install, then you should not have any previous data in your Phoca Download, so you can try to remove it completely (only in case of install not upgrade) from the system so Joomla! tables will not have wrong information and then you can try to install it again, see:

https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... m-manually

After you remove the component completely from the system (data will be removed too if there are any, so don't do it when you make upgrade only) you should be able to install it newly without any such problems you have.
