Search in one Category only

Hello everybody,

is it possible the Joomla-search to configure so they searched only one particular category?

In Phoca-Download i have three categorys.

All categorys must be published for public.

I would like to publish certificates for a run.
The run takes place once a year.
Now i have made categories for the years called "2014" "2015" "2016" in Phoca-Downloads.
In the main menu i would like make menu-entrys of the type "Joomla-Search" for every year. (e.g. called: "Certifications 2015") what only the appropriate category searching.

So you can have the certificates for the appopriate Event and not for the runs of the past years.

The year of the Run you can choose in the main menu.

I need 3 Search-Forms / Search-Menu-Items each looking only in the appropriate category.

How is this possible?

Thank you for your help!

Kindly regards

fap

Hi, if you will make three categories then you can create menu link to each category so in fact every menu link will be filtered by the year.

@Jan: Thank you for your answer!

I've already thought about this option, but that would not be practicable.

Because there are very many certificates (Every Year more than 500) it would be better to have a search and not a list.

Kindly regards

Hi, so in this case, I think the search plugin needs to be somehow customized for this feature
