creating thumbnails

hi

i know this has been posted numerous times before but i have tried the suggestions but still cannot seem to fix the problem. i have uploaded an optimized image 800 x 533 with a size of 233kb to a category in the phocagallery folder. i deleted all other images in that directory. permissions to the directory is set at 755. when i view the image under "images" in the backend of phocagallery, already there it shows a broken image asif the image doesnt exist. if i try to regenerate the thumbnail it fails. i have already tried switching off thumbnail creation and reactivating it but to no avail.

could you please assist. i can provide a URL if needed.

Hi, first of all you need to check the permissions, if Joomla! (PHP) is able to write files on your server - 755 can be protected in case the ownership is different (it depends on ownership of the files and folders) - so try to check to enable FTP layer in your Joomla! Global Configuration - if enable, try to disable it.
