Plugin not displaying larger images

Hello, i installed the phoca component first and then the phoca plugin. Everything worked well initially when i used the phoca plugin in an article. Then i created a menu link to a phoca gallery. After that if i disable or unpublish that menu item, i get an error 404 page not when i click on the thumbnail. If i publish that menu item all the thumbnails work well. Could some one help me? Thanks.
