phoca maps problem showing map

Post by vae victies »

Hello everybody,

Since a day or two i am trying to setup my website with Joomla extensions. And this espeacially with Photo gallery apllications.
I started with Gallery2 from menalto but i can't get the google maps function to work to satisfaction. So i want to try the one from PHOCA because this looks very well.

But with this i have a problem:

Ik installed de Phoca Map extension, this is also showing in the tab "components" so this looks alright.
I have installed the API key,(i first had a wrong one installed and the program gave a error about it) but with the current one i do not have this error so this look alright also.

Only when i want to create a new Map and want to see the preview i only see a white slide and after a minute there is stil not map showing.

I also have little bug or part of the problem :? in the control panel of the Phoca maps the SEAL (logo) is not shown. the path of the picture is /Joomla/administrator/components/com_phocamenu/assets/images/logo-phoca.png.
But the com_phocamenu dir does not exists.

I am using version 1.0.2. Phoca Maps
and Joomla! 1.5.1 and phocagallery v2.2.4

I hope that someone can help me? and i not thanks for the effort of reading this.

First,

please upgrade to joomla 1.5.10, there is a serious security issue with joomla 1.5.1

Carolien,

Thanks for the quick reply,

Upgraded to 1.5.10. so that is up to date.

But it did not solved my Phoca Maps problem. (but that was to expect i think)

Hello it's me again.

I fiddled a little more with the de Phoca Map Plugin for showing maps with the photograph's and after putting a API key in the parameter setting (i tought that this only had to been done in the Phoca Map Component parameter settings) of the plugin and now i can view the map and point to it so this is working fine.

So it seems that i only have a problem with Phoca Map Component. This is in the map preview and the absent of the Phoca Logo (seal) in the control panel. which looks like to a missing directory or something like that.

Hi, there is no paramter for adding API key in Plugin. The API key is added into parameters of component and plugin takes this api key from component ???

Try to download the component again and try to reinstall it

Hi

I am new here, I hope this is the right place to ask about phoca maps installation issue:

01 - I install without any problem the version 1.02 of the component and 1.01 of the plugin
I am in a JOOMLA 1.5.11 version with PHP 5

02 - The first thing I think is add my Google API Key, but where ?

Jan saw: "the API key.....into parameters of component" ...

but I don't find it in components > Phoca Maps
I see just : Control Panel :: Maps :: Markers :: Info

I already tried it too in MENU LINK . I create a link to Phoca Maps > Parameters > Google API Key
where I found 2 blank fields, and if I paste my API in the second field [ between square bracks ] after save,
the api key will appear in the first field above.

03 - After it I go to
MAPS > NEW
and when I click in Coordinates I get this error message:

"If you didn't add any API Key in Parameters, go to Phoca Maps - Parameters and add Google Maps API Key into form field Google Maps API Key"

Does anybody know where I make some mistake ?

thanks

Hi,

log in as superadmin, go to the Components control panel, check in the upper right bar (where usually the save button is). There must be the parameters button.
