Different categories- different pages

I am fairly new to phoca and have installed it on my site.. It operates wonderfully and I love it..However,
I can't for the life of me figure out how to have the different categories show up on different pages..example:
I have different categories in my top menu of my site , 2 of them are for 'weddings' and 'military/fire'...I want to show and have just the photos for each wedding party on the link weddings... and of course, just the military/fire photos when you click on the military/fire link..
I have tried everything and am sure i am setting it up wrong... I have tried changing the following:
top menu>weddings>change type>phocagallery>category list and used weddings
top menu>weddings>change type>phocagallery>category group or blog > and used weddings..
However.... i still get the military fire photo group in the wedding section...
on the military/fire link, when you click it , it goes to the opened book of photos and not the folder view with the picture on it... that part is in the wedding section....
I am frustrated and not sure what to do now and I think i should start over nad reload all teh photos and start over..
How can i make the above correct... i just want to be able for a person to click the weddings link and have the wedding albums.. and click the military link and have military albums....

Hi, you can create menu link to categories view (all categories) or to some specific category like wedding, etc.
