Width of backend dropdowns

Hi Jan
I am currently working with a client who uses very long category names.
Is it possible to increase the width of the dropdown selectors? It's often - also in Phoca Gallery - almost impossible to see the category you want and not make a mistake when creating sub-categories.
If you can tell me where in the program I can change that width, I'd be very grateful. I'm sure it's something that can be changed easily and would make work a lot easier.
Thanks in advance
Regards
David

Hi, it depends on view, you exactly mean. I think the best way is to do per CSS in your template CSS

For example in administration, Phoca does not set the width, it is set by Joomla! style.

Hi Jan
Thanks for your answer.
I have spent an hour trying to work out the css which would change that fixed 220px, without success.
I am talking about the view in the backend, when you try to create a new category and click on the "Parent Category" dropdown to select the parent category. It gets to be almost impossible to read when you have 4 levels of subcategories
Any idea waht the correct CSS would be - I'm stumped.

Hi Jan - can't find any way to add the screenshot in this system. How do I do that?

Hi see the Phoca Forum rules - just upload your image to some external service like imgur is and then copy the bb code (under get share links) from your images on imgur and paste it here.

Hi, this needs to be set in your Joomla! administration template. Inputs are designed by the administration template, so e.g. setting some width for inputs can do the trick
