Category View Layout

Hi
I'm thinking about switching from using jdownloads to phocadownload, but I want to make sure phoca can do the same thing for my site.

Right now the layout on jdownloads looks like this:
(this is just a mock-up in Word to protect privacy)

Now I've been able to get the name, filesize, and date added in phoca, but when it comes to the thumbnail I'm not sure how to do it.

Is phoca able to auto-generate thumbnails from image files like jdownloads can (using GD Library)? If so, how do I get it to do that and insert it into the Category View Layout?

The only thing I've been able to find in the forum is that I can put a thumbnail there, but only if I go into each individual file and choose an image for it -- choose an image for an image file? I only need it to do the thumbnail for the files that are images (not for rar/zip).

My site has thousands of files, so I wouldn't be able to go into each file and do that.

I appreciate any help on this.

Hi, no there is no automatically script to create thumbnails - in Phoca Download, you should use standard images or youtube videos. Mostly thumbnails are used in image galleries (Phoca Gallery) or in e-commerce solution (Phoca Cart). In fact it was skipped intentionally to prevent from having the component heavy.

I would just recommend some program on PC, which transforms all the images to some size at once and then just upload such images to the server
