iOS safari crash when doing multiple upload frontend.

When i am using the frontend multiple photo upload on my site (html5) from safari/firefox my iphone6s, i seem to encounter an intermittent problem. Sometimes i can upload 100+photos at a time with no issues, sometimes i can upload 30 images and halfway through the browser crashes saying 'the webpage encountered a problem and was reloaded' and the upload stops. Having done some research it appears it could be a javascript issue causing a memory spike? I have no idea where to check for this or what to look for.... Any ideas?

Thanks Jan. I have looked at the console in edge browser as per the instructions and it says:
SCRIPT1014: Invalid character
gallery-admin (636,146)
When I click on the gallery-admin (636,146) link, it goes to:
<select id="filter_catid_image" name="filter_catid_image" class="inputbox" size="1" onchange="document.getElementById('phocagalleryimageform').submit();">
I am lost!!!! :-S

Hmmm and is the invalid character only a warning or error? Really hard to say which characters is not valid?
