Hello, Thanks for the anser Jan.
unfortunately there is no menu item "settings"
I use the Dutch version, and there must be a field "instellingen" But this is missing. Need to find Components » Phoca Download » Settings and set the absolute path in Absolute Path input field.) But check all items. Where can i find this field? Or is this missing in the Dutch version?
Now i have;
>Componenten
>Phoca-download
>Controlepaneel
>Bestanden
> Categorieen
>Licenties
>Statistieken
>downloads
> Uploads
>Rating bestanden
.>Tags
>Layout
>Stijlen
>Loggen
>info

But can't find any setting here for setting the absolute path?
What can we do /can we find this?

Hi pdaalmeer2,

ja, heb zelf nu wezen kijken, en je hebt gelijk, er is er geen "settings". Gaa maar even naar (nu in engels):

Controlepaneel > Options > General > Experts Only > Absolute Path [see Link van Jan]
zal Jan bericht over geven. Meer weet ik dus niet, want ik ga dat niet gebruiken.

Groetjes, Christine

Hi, the documentation uses obsolete term "Settings", I will fix it. It is just component "Options", just go to Joomla! administration and Options of the component (like all components in Joomla! have)

Thanks for the answer.
I tried above manual in different ways, but still get message;
"Message: Error when downloading file File not found on the server" when try to download from the new location.
I tried with FTP layer on, but still no results. I look at the absolute path in the settings, and for logs /temp etc, the path is right.

Is there maybe another way for google not let find the files?

Hi, the way to store the files behind the public_html is just the best way to hide the files from public (not only the google).
Of course in .htaccess you can define which folders the robots should not access (see standard Joomla! .htaccess), so you can set the folders within the public_html - then the search bot will not access such folder (but if this will do all the robots, hard to say).

If you want to paste the files behind public_html, you need to know the path exactly.

Hello, thanks for the answer Jan. I did make a change in the .htaccess for example to the phocadownloadpap directory, but the pdf file in this directory still on google. Maybe because they already found in the past. I did try also many ways for the method above (files on the public_html and change the settings. But this still doesn't work either. i have a test site with a copy of the website. Is it maybe possible to send you admin rights for take a look? let me know if possible where to send the information?
