Ordering of items in Filter Module

Is there any way to adjust the ordering of items in the filter module, for example, every one of my products has a custom specification of "BF" and the values in the filter module show in this order:

BF
43
56
34
38
39
41
46
11
22

I was curious if there was some way I could add to the code to force it to display the numbers in order of least to most, or something similar?
