Hi,
I succeeded in implementing fancybox as detail view by modifying some source code.
Result is nice, and well responsive: demo
It works for images only and still is not fully tested.
I would like fancybox to become integrated in future versions of Phoca Gallery.

Will be great to get the info, what all did you edited and which libraries you have loaded, so I can add it to feature request list and take a look at it.

Thank you, Photoswipe looks same, even better With share button also.
There are no arrows in mobile view which is good, but more lagging when sliding images
Anyway it would be my choice, since all other detail view libraries are not fully responsive.
Actually I used highslide before and it was not good for mobile view.
Regarding coding: i've changed
/administrator/components/com_phocagallery/libraries/phocagallery/render - to add jquery.fancybox.min.js and jquery.fancybox.min.css
and
/components/com_phocagallery/views/category/tmpl/default_images.php - to modify html output
