Thumbnails are not generated suddenly

Hi All,
I am supporting one basic school with joomla administering. We are using Phoca Gallery for many Years. Suddenly the generation of thumbnails doesn't work anymore. In image page we are trying to regenerate thumbnails, we are receiving positive return message "Thumbnails generated." But nothing happend in real. No subfolder Thumb is generated.
Unfortunately I don't know rootcause.
Q: How I can investigate, where is problem? Some log file?
I wanted to reinstall the whole gallery, but I cannot, due to restriction on ISP provider side. PHP configuration and size limit.
I can via FTP rewrite the code in joomla components folder.
Q: Which php file Should I rewrite to address problem with (re) generating thumbnails?

Hi,
check first whether the thumbnail creation is enabled:
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Control Panel --> Options --> Thumbnails -->
Enable Thumbnails Generation=Yes
Second check: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Info
All lines except the first one should be highlighted in green.

Thank You very much for Your advice. The automatic generation of thumbnails were switch off.
It is working now.
