Error when Updating to 3.1.7

Hi,

I'm using Joomla! 3.9.3.
Updating Phoca Download from 3.1.4 to 3.1.7 results in

Warnung
BIGINT UNSIGNED value is out of range in '(`d02b5b42`.`#__menu`.`level` - 1)'
Fehler
Fehler bei der Komponenten-Installation.

... and the Entry "Phoca Download" in the component menu in the backend has vanished. So the Administration of Phoca Dowmload is "a little bit difficult".
Phoca Download seems to work in the Frontend. I suppose the new Version is working?

What is the right value of '#_menu'.'level' ? "0" or "1"
Any idea how the wrong value came there?
And even better, how to update without Error?

Greetings
Lothar

Hi, unfortunately hard to say, Phoca Download does not install itself, it is installed by Joomla! extension manager. Do you have the complete error message (including where it occurrs, etc.)?

Hi,

now I've come back to the update problem and made some experiments in a local installation:
- I exported the not empty db-tables of phoca Download running version 3.1.4. and hoped the file tree of phocadownload will be untouched when deinstalling the software.
- Even to try a deinstallation of Version 3.1.4 ends in the same error and no fully deinstallation was done.
- Finally some subsequent installations of version 3.1.4 and 3.1.7 led to another Error: An xml-file was missing.
- But now it was possible to deinstall phoca Download and to install version 3.1.7 without an error message.
- And the file tree was still there
- An deinstallation of version 3.1.7 was possible too.
- After importing the database tables all worked fine. Obviously there was no change in the database structure from v 3.1.4 to v 3.1.7.
So I did the same successfully in the life system.
I didn't found the mistake, but this work around was successful.

Greetings
Lothar

Ok, sometimes it is needed to completely remove the extension from the system to be 100%, there is nothing which can prevent from new installation
