Hi,

i just want to set an image to represent an category, and i cannot believe that this can be an issue!

I searched the forum, and the only result were to unsolved topics.
viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59298
viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59394

So my you have to ask yourself why there can be a problem for an very basic feature.

Why f.ex. it's not integrated here:
http://www.prime-pinball.de/Unbenannt-1.jpg

if i choose some picture here:
http://www.prime-pinball.de/Unbenannt-2.jpg

The settings are due to the description:
http://www.prime-pinball.de/Unbenannt-3.jpg

It would be nice if you eventually post some HOWTO step by step, to clear it up for the future.
So other user will benefit from it.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings
Wayne

Hi, for now I don't fully understand the problem

There is only one step to do:

1) Set the image which will represents the category and save the category

Image

2) It will be then just displayed in frontend

Image

Of course, this way it works as default.

If you have custom layout, there is no tag for the category image, if you do override of the output by template then you just customize the output by yourself.

Hi Jan,

sorry for late reply.

You are right, it's working now. Thanks.
I tried it successful in another installation.
It was not working because my categories were in a 2nd level.
If i try to display some categorie pic in the 1st level, it's working,
but in some sub-categories i still cannot display the pics.
So, is it also possible to show cat pics for sub cats?

Thank you in advance.

Greetings
Wayne

Hi, for now there is no such option, so this file:
components\com_phocadownload\views\category\tmpl\default.php (see subcategories part)

needs to be customized or overriden by template
