PHOCA Download - Mobile Options _ _

Dear Forum

First time posting so thanks in advance for any help and advice! I am using Phone Download for a simple resource download area for a small none profit.

The GUI didn't really suit my purposes so I built a hidden page and then simply created graphic icons on a viewable page with links to the download. Works great .

I have everything working as I would like and on desktop I hit the graphic icon for a promo video and it direct downloads and I can view it. On mobile (_ _) when I select the graphic icon it goes to a media player and appears to be preparing to play. I then after a couple of seconds get the play triangle icon on the screen and it has a line thru it.

At first I though it could be a problem with with file format, however I can download and play the mp4 on my Mac. I appreciate any insights.

Hello all, I have just noted that the title of this thread was supposed to be PHOCA Download not Photo Download (Mods if we can change this it may be useful for others. The files I am downloading is PDF,MP4 and JPEG. They all work on desktop on mobile PDF and jpg is viewable as expected. MP4 will not play. Thanks

Hi, unfortunately, I don't think, there is no way how to change this behaviour is phone. If the phone setting does not allow to play it, there is no way for the website to change it.

In Phoca Download you can use two functions:

- download - which means, that the browser will be forced to download the file instead of play the file
- preview/play - which means, that the file will be displayed/played in browser

But both depends on browser and OS settings. OS and browser can override the features which the website tries to do.

Anyway, did you enable HTML5 play in Options of Phoca Download (is is default, but maybe it was changed)
