Installation error

Installing the phocagallery on Joomla 3.9.16 creates the failure message: "Installation package cannot be found"

I have tried then to install the files via FileZilla according to the procedure written on the phoca homepage, but the result is still the same with the message mentioned above.

Please advise whether there are any solutions re to this subject.

Regards

Hi,
you mean Phoca Gallery, as written in Phoca Download, any way:

No, not via FileZilla. After download of: https://github.com/PhocaCz/PhocaGallery ... 4.3.18.zip > Just in (backend):
Upload Package File - select the Phoca Gallery component ZIP file from your disc and click on Upload File&Install.
In case of getting: "Copy File Failed", similar post: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60850

Hi Christine

thanks for your prompt reply.

What you suggested was the very first thing I did to install Phoca Gallery. The result was the failure message: "Installation package cannot be found".
As this didn't work, I copied the files from the downloaded package via FileZilla to the server environment (following the instructions on the Phoca site). The result was the same. "Installation package cannot be found".

It seems that Joomla doesn't find the files needed for installation inside the downloaded package.

Regards

Wolfgang

Hi, did you download the package from Phoca.cz site? Can you paste the screenshot of the error when standard installing?

Hi,

in addition:

Check also tmp / logs permissions - if writeable. Joomla is unable to write/read from the tmp folder. Make sure that your tmp folder that is defined in the configuration.php is fully writable.

Joomla needs write permissions to most of its folders to install an extension, and if that write permission is not granted, then Joomla will not be able to install the extension.

Kind regards
Christine
