How can I unpublish specific Notifications in Order status?

I only want to email customers to confirm, that their order has come in, but nothing else, as we use an external software to handle all invoicing and shipment. When I try to unpublish or delete the different notifcations under order status, I get an info that "default" items canĀ“t be unpublished or deleted.
Any idea how I can "un-default" them?

Hi, there are specific default items which cannot be deleted, but if you don't use them, they are not displayed for customers.

So if your customer make an order, the order will be set e.g. as pending, the customer gets email with minimal info and that's it. You don't need to do anything more or somehow contact customer or send him/her another email.

The statuses are marked as default to differentiate between the build-in statuses and newly created statuses (e.g. because payment methods somehow are based on statuses) but it does not mean, that they are used or that they somehow interact with customer

Okidoki, sounds good. And if I delete an order (when is done in the external Software), no mail is send either, right?

Hi, when deleting order, there is no order status, so there is no email sent. Email is only send if order status changes AND it is set in this order status that the email should be sent.
