external link always target = _self

I want to open the target in a new page, I changed it in general options, (external download link - blank), but I put an external linf to a mega page, but it always opens in same page, not in new page...
Do anyone knows how to preceed?

Hi, external link is always displayed in the same window because mostly a direct link is used - so no website is displayed but the download window. In case of blank attribute - empty tab or window will be displayed and immediately closed. So this needs to be customized directly in the code, if you need to have target blank for external files.
