Publishing Options > Date

Is there any way to have the Publishing Options > Date automatically update if a new version of a file is uploaded.

I know I can update manually, but we have hundreds of documents on our intranet and manually updating the date is a pain!

Hi, there is no such option, so this needs to be customized. New version of file can be uploaded by many ways to the system, so each such way needs to have specific solution.
