First of all, my best wishes for this new 2021.
I am new at the forum. I am using Joomla 3.9.23 with Helix Ultimate template (froom JoomShaper)
My steps trying to install Phoca PDF have been:
- I have installed Phoca Component, Content Pluging and System Plugin.
- I have followed your guidelines for Joomla >3.3. Modify icons.php in layouts/joomla/content/icons.php
But no pdf is showing in the article.
Then I have tried to look for icons.php in templates/shaper_helixultimate/html/layouts/com_content/icons.php and somewhere hanging from templates/shaper_helixultimate, but icosn.php does not exist.

What can I do to make your useful extension work?

Hi, you need to find the place where the icons are rendered on your system. This in fact has nothing to do with Phoca PDF, you only search the place from where you will call Phoca PDF, so this can be everywhere and different on different websites.

Usually:
- Phoca PDF System plugin tries to find the place of all icons in article and try to add the PDF icon there
- If system plugin does not find this place, the only one solution is to find this place manually and edit the icon manually.

So you need to detect, where is the place which renders the standard icons like "Print", etc.

Usually:
- it is in com_content
- but some templates can override the com_content part
- so this can be in some override
- but even on onother place

Maybe you should ask template developer, if there is a place in template which overrides the standard icons like print icon and if there is such place, in which file it is located.

What can I do to make your useful extension work?

So for now, in fact, you don't search for how the extension will work but how you will create links to this extension on your website.
