Please integrate the possibility to assign rights to entire member groups.

Hello Jan,

when creating a new category, it has so far only been possible to either give access rights to nobody, to "all registered members" or to specify each individual user by name.

The same applies to upload and delete rights.

With a few dozen categories, it is quite time-consuming if individual authorized persons have to be added or removed by name in all categories.

My suggestion: Please create the opportunity to select entire groups of members. I have a lot more here than just the standard Joomla groups. That would make the administrative work at the establishment much easier.

Regards, Walter

Hi, see similar posts in this forum, this is no so easy, the problem is that access rights based on users was voted prior to access rights based on groups (as mostly individuall users are uploading files to their accounts). The problem with adding groups access rights can be in conflict with user rights. So yes, this feature is in feature request list, but not so easy to integrate.

Hello Jan,
thank you very much for the message.
I can understand that. Maybe it will work out one day.
"Joomdonation" has integrated this function into "Edocman" for some time.

Is there a simple / quick way to delete or enter new people from around 30 categories without having to open and change each individual category?
Or is it only possible directly in the database via phpmyadmin?

Hi, the only way for batch managing it would be the database - to directly change it there
