One thing I am missi

One thing I am missing at Phoca Gallery at the moment is,
an easier way to upload Images.
Most cameras out there create Images with Sizes bigger 1.5 MB.
Now if there would be a solution, where all Images get resized on the Client Computer, and then get uploaded would fasten upload a lot, and save Server Cpu Power.

If you have a look at the Gallery2 Script, they offer various Solutions for this.

Also I would like my Viewers to be able to upload Images on my Server, which will be published when I reviewed them.

Thanks again,
Mario

Hi, if you see Phoca

Hi, if you see Phoca Gallery, there is no uploading - not in admin (you can use media manager or ftp - why doing duplicate things), not in front (not so easy because Phoca Gallery uses the standard Phoca system - listening of items, deleting, moving, editing, publishing and there is no such system in front ... next problem is that Phoca Gallery gives you powerful tool to get automatically thumbnails without user must upload images in parts, but this system cannot be used in front ... it is not so safe for running your site - images resizing takes a lot of RAM and CPU ...)

So now I am looking for some solution, but it is a long way-

- safety parameters - image size, disc space size / user in the server ....
- einvironment for image uploading
- creating of thumbnails in the frontend or after administrators review ...
- disk place - category - how will be the category created, by administrator ...
- no ftp layer in front ...
- and, and....
---------------------------------
'if there would be a solution, where all Images get resized on the Client Computer' ... it depends on user (admin) if he resizes the images on his computer ...
Maybe the Phoca Gallery works other way, there is powerful tool how to prepare your gallery on your computer and then how to display it on your server:

you create on your disc folders and in these folders you will copy the images, you can create subfolders too... so the tree will be created on your computer... then you upload this tree to your server and Phoca Gallery makes by one click all thumbnails and from folders it makes categories resp. subcategories...

Hi Jan,

thanks for your comments.
I don`t know if you know Gallery2.
They offer some Java Software for the client computer, but that is way to complicated.
The only thing I can think of is either their "XP Publisher", or their "Java Applet" which will resize the Images on Client Side to Images Size which is specified in Admin Area.

Well, for my own it is now Problem to upload images via Ftp, as I use Acdsee to reduce File Size for all Images which will get Uploaded,
but if there will ever be a solution for Website Viewers to Upload Images,
there should be any solution to upload images from the Frontside of Joomla.
If they will be resized on the Client Computer, it would be even easier.

If you care about having a look on the Extension for Uploads at Gallery2, have a look to their Site.

Thanks again for listening,

Yes, but the problem is, that my knowledges about such system are minimum (no Java Applet knowledges or any other knowledges how to prepare something on user's computer )

Only what can I do for front is some parameters for a limit size of an uploaded image, but how I said, the front uploading will be not so easy ....
