Control panel stats : what are those "Sales" ?

Hi,
I just have a quick question... What's the meaning of the "Sales" number displayed at the top right of the Control Panel page ?
I understand what "Orders" means, but those "Sales" ?

Hi,

the total value of all sales (today or this week)

Example (orders on Monday):
Order 1: total: 300EUR
Order 2: total: 150EUR

Statistics (orders on Monday, "today"):
Orders: 2
Sales: 450 EUR
