Hello, is there a way to export the list of files/categories from a Phoca Download in J2.5 to a fresh J4 installation?

Hi,
migrate to J!3 and wait. Phoca Download for J!4 is not stable yet.
Later there will be instructions on how to migrate from J!3 to J!4.
Kind regards,
Benno

Thanks, the intention is to migrate to J4, as it is stable now and I don't want to repeat the work in a few years.
Is there a roadmap for Phoca Download for j4? I don't really need that many features, just a "list of files" view and a few others.

Hi, Phoca download ist almost stable, I didn't get any feedback about large problems in Phoca download. Of course it is always better to wait for stable because of many reasons, like avoidance problems when updating, etc.
Migration from J3 to J4 should be in fact the same like 2.5 to 3 (in short: you export data from 3 and import to 4 - this is database, and then you copy files from 3 to 4 - this is filesystem) - described here:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/50-phoca ... o-joomla-3
Of course upgrading from 2.5 to 4 can make different problems and it depends on your knowledge whether it can be solved.
Some users will rahter upgrade from 2.5 to 3 and then to 4. Some can do the direct upgrade from 2.5 to 4 but they need to count with possible problems which they should know to solve. (I by myself didn't make never upgrade between two large version. E.g. when I had obsolete 1.5 website, I created it from scratch on J3 but didn't ugprade 1.5 to 2.5 to 3, so I cannot give any clue advice if there will be problems during 2.5 to 4 migrate

)
Most of Phoca extensions which are Beta can be used on websites, there is some time to having Betas, so users can test them and send feedback. So for example here:
https://www.phoca.cz/phocacart4demo/ Beta version of Phoca Cart and Phoca Gallery is running.

Oh, I see my first message is actually confusing. I'm NOT trying to migrate my J2.5 website to J4. That would be crazy, it is a website basically unmantained for years. There are a lot of modules for which even the company that developed them doesn't exist anymore.
The J4 website would be a new one from scratch, I'm just trying to migrate the Phoca Download data from the old j.25 installation to the new j4.

Between J3 and J4 version of Phoca Download, there were no database structure changes. So I think, exporting the data from 2.5 and importing to J4 should work (but import/export only data, not the structure).
