I used Phoca Guestbook v3.0.12 with Google ReCAPTCHA v3 (via “Options” > “CAPTCHA” > “Enable CAPTCHA” = “Joomla Default Captcha” and Joomla > “System” > “Global Configuration” > “Site Settings” > “Default CAPTCHA” = “CAPTCHA – Invisible reCAPTCHA”) and received tons of spam just like Google ReCAPTCHA v3 was simply ignored by Phoca Guestbook… :-(?)

Today I wanted to check the CAPTCHA options once again and found that the used value “Joomla Default Captcha” was completly removed from “Options” > “CAPTCHA” > “Enable CAPTCHA” – why?

And how can I use Google ReCAPTCHA v3 now?

Hi, for now there is no option for reCaptcha 3 as it just didn't work. Did you read this article:

Mostly, any captcha method is weak protection so it is good to see other options.

I will try to see if I can implement the Joomla built in reCaptcha, but the problem, the implementation is not easy.

I hope you will succeed at least with https://contactform7.com/recaptcha/ or https://contactform7.com/recaptcha/ (though Contact Form 7 is a plugin for WordPress, it is also written in PHP so you can see how it is implemented).

Hi, I use standard captcha here:

and get no problems with spam (of course there is human spam but this is very hard to prevent from)

Thanks for the recommendation! I have successfully switched to this type of CAPTCHA, and am quite happy with the result! :-)

However, I would be glad if you implement Google ReCAPTCHA v3 support in Phoca Guestbook and notify me here. Thanks in advance!
