Beginner's question

Hello,

I have installed Phoca Download to enable the users of my site to download PDF files, because the Attachment module I am using will no longer work with Joomla! 4.

However, while I have been able to create a category and upload the files, I do not find in the Phoca documentation how to insert a download button (and the reference to the file to be downloaded) into an existing article...

Can someone point me to a basic "how-to" / "user guide for dummies", or let me know the actions I should take ?... ;-)

Thanks in advance !

Hi,
you have to wait a little longer. To download Phoca Download files within an article you need the Phoca Download Plugin, but unfortunately this is not available for Phoca Download 4.0.0 yet.
Documentation: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/51-phoca ... oad-plugin

Kind regards,
Benno

Thank you for your response Benno.

For the time being, the site for which I am trying to use Phoca Download runs on Joomla 3.10

So, I suppose I can use it; and that the Plugin is part of the installation of Phoca Download (i.e. and does not need to be installed separately).

With this in mind, I am trying to understand how I can make "downloadable" from an article of my site some files I uploaded in the Phocadownload files library.

Kind regards,
Eric.

Hi,

Unfortunately the Phoca Download Plugin needs to be installed separately. Also, I would recommend installing the Phoca Download Button Plugin in addition. You will get an additional Phoca Download Button in your backend editor. With it's help you can easily create the desired plugin code and insert it into an article.

Kind regards,
Benno
