Hello,
Sorry, was a problem with this hosting and it was full. That is the reason i cant install anything.
I just install the new component and now it seem to be OK.
I imagine i dont have to do anything else ? When i have updated to J4, i have do that from the J3 site directly, so all the data still here. So it will be ok like that no ?
Regards

Hi,
I imagine i dont have to do anything else ?
You have to export the database tables of Phoca Download J3 version and import it to Phoca Download J4 version,
See the guide I have linked.
Kind regards,
Benno

Excuse me, but as long as the tables are present since version 3 of Joomla with phocadownload, I do not understand why I need to export them to re-import them?
Because if i watch in the admin, all the data seems to be here.

Hi,
Unfortunately I can't describe the way of a standard migration from Phoca Download for Joomla! 3 to Phoca Download for Joomla! 4 better than it was already done by Jan in the guide I linked.
Once again in short form:
1) Export the
data (See the guide I linked on how to accomplish this.) of the Phoca Download J3 database tables and save them locally.
2.) The files from the folders:
[phocadownload] if you use your own directory, save this directory
[phocadownloadpap]
save locally.
3.) Uninstall Phoca Download for J3.
4.) Perform the upgrade from Joomla! 3 to Joomla! 4.
5) Install Phoca Download for J4.
6) Import the data of the exported J3 database tables into Phoca Download for J4.
Before that you have to empty two tables, because they are not empty during the installation.
7.) Copy the files saved in point 2.) into the appropriate directories.
I do not understand why I need to export them to re-import them?
Because a freshly installed Phoca Download for J4 cannot contain the data of your old Phoca Download for J3. You have to import them again, as described above.
Kind regards,
Benno

Sorry to cut in,
But I've already upgraded the whole installation from J3 to J4 and after that Phoca Download to version 4.0.4 (suitable for J4)
So far the only problem was with styles (CSS files for this component), but with some investigation, it was solved.
In case you didn't play too much with PD styles you are OK to proceed.
The reason why I didn't follow
these instructions was that I haven't a separate installation of J4, and also I don't know how to transfer all articles, images, etc. safely between them. Official Joomla
upgrade info is to update the existing installation, not to make a new one.

Hi,
Official Joomla upgrade info is to update the existing installation, not to make a new one.
Right!
And this is exactly what I meant with step 4.)
4.) Perform the upgrade from Joomla! 3 to Joomla! 4
.
Kind regards,
Benno
Edit: If you perform the Joomla! 3 to Joomla! 4 upgrade, you can skip steps 2.) and 7.) because Phoca Download does not delete these directories and files during uninstallation.
