Assignning Custom fields to a category inculding its sub-categories

Hi,
Is there any way to include sub-categories when I assign a category to apply a custom field. Since we have tons of sub-categories to be included. The method to assign one-by-one will be inconvenient.
Thanks.

The following picture shows a part of my product categories. You can see they goes as deep as the fourth layer.

When Icreate a custom field I have to apply each one of them. as the following picture goes.

In this case, I wish Ican just assign industrial enthernet switch and include all products in it and its sub-categories.

Hi, now I understand. Unfortunately, this all is managed by SQL command which asks database and such needs to have listed all categories (independent to their relation). :-( And unfortunately, this is not the only one difficult part. The other is that each product can be assigned to more categories so you really need to list each category separately because if the product is inside some subcategory which has parent category selected in custom field and then it is even listed in another category which is not a part of the same tree then there will be another conflicts :-(
